Brian was a great guy to work with at the Globe, and just a fun guy to talk with, in the office or out of it. We had a lot of great chats on long drives to the Cities for state tournaments, or just talking in the office after a game. He was passionate about his work, but also about so many other things, including of course his love of hunting for rocks, artifacts, etc. I'd usually have no interest in those things, but at the end of a conversation with Brian, I was ready to drop everything and start scouring rural Minnesota! Condolences to all of his family.

Dear Lorraine, I don't know if you remember us from Perkins in Worthington so very long ago, but we remember you and Brian. We have such very fond memories of you both! We are heartbroken to hear of your loss and just wanted you to know that you and your family are in our prayers. He was a very kind and beautiful person. God bless you all, Jamie & Mary Wasko

Our condolences to the Korthals family. I met Brian through my brother Shawn Fury when they worked together at the Globe. Brian spent many hours walking our shoreline by Furys island looking for rocks and arrow heads. Dave and I both learned a lot from him about Native American artifacts . He showed up one day last fall and took one last walk along the shore. Dave happened to be home that day and was so happy that he was so he could walk with him. I'm sure they had a good conversation. Rest in peace our friend.

I have such fond memories of Brian. I worked at Ax Photo during high school (late 90s), and he would often stop by to get his film developed and preview photos before publishing them at the Daily Globe. I really enjoyed the conversations I had and the time I spent with Brian. He was so easy to talk to and be around. I've thought of him often over the years.
Sincere condolences to his family and friends.

My sincere condolences to the family and friends. The death of a loved one can bring many tears and pain. my hope for you is that your hearts be filled with wonderful memories of times spent together. May you find comfort in God's promise of a new world where death will be no more.. “He wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” Revelation 21:4. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.

Fritz, Bobbie and Brian's family,
I did not have the privilege of knowing Brian as he grew up. But I do remember babysitting him when he was little.
My thoughts and prayers for all of you as you go through this very difficult time.
Please know you will all be kept in my thoughts and prayers!
Hugs and prayers,

Paul & I send our heartfelt condolences to the family of Brian. We are sorry that we will be on the road and won't be able to attend his services.
The Korthals family were such good friends of the Summers' family (Irma, Clarence & Paul & Mark) . Brian remembered that when he was little, Irma or Verena babysat him and always thought well of Paul's family for doing this. We will miss seeing him at our shows. Brian always did a story for our group when we came to town for shows. He will be remembered by us.

Brian and I shared a passion for photography, and I always loved when he would be assigned to cover the Southwestern United baseball games...we would spend the innings, him taking photos, me coaching third base, talking about different photography things. I learned a lot about photography from him. But more importantly, I learned a little about Brian and the person he was. Cindy and I send our deepest sympathies to all of you at this time.

Brian was a good photojournalist, one of a handful of talented shooters who perfected their skills in Worthington. Through Brian's work Daily Globe readers readers saw themselves and thus, understood themselves and their world just a little better.
Southwest Minnesota and northwest Iowa is, sadly, a little worse off without Brian.
