DEBORAH JANE SCOGGINS, age 57, of Luverne, died Sunday, September 3, 2017, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage, in Luverne, after battling Lymphoma. She was born November 22, 1959, in Gallatin, MT, to David and Anna (Schipper) Clousing. As a small child, Deb moved around often. She graduated from Manhattan Christian High School in Montana.
Deb loved spending time with her long-term boyfriend, Dean Tuinstra. She lived in Luverne for twenty years and had worked as an Environmental Service Specialist at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center for twelve years at the Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Home, in Luverne, for thirteen years.
In the little spare time she had, Deb loved spending time with her family and her pets. She enjoyed camping and attending as many of her grandkids events as she could. Deb had just started rekindling her faith in God; and occasionally attended the American Reformed Church, in Luverne, with her daughter. Her faith grew very strong and in her last weeks, she made sure to watch services online.
Deb is survived by her daughter, Amy (Travis) Chapa, Luverne; son, Jason (Julie) Bechler, Sioux Falls, SD; three grandchildren, Jaycee, Addy & Kamdyn Chapa; step grandson, Cameron; special friend, Dean Tuinstra, Pipestone; sister, Bev Herman, Riverton, WY; and two brothers, David Clousing, Bedford, KY; and Calvin Clousing, Geraldine, MT.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Linda Hessbeck; and a brother-in-law, Bill Herman.
A time of fellowship will be from 9 to 11 am Saturday at the American Reformed Church in Luverne. A memorial service will be 11 am Saturday at the American Reformed Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Mike Altena. A private committal of cremains will take place at a later date.
