ESTHER MAE KRULL, age 84, of Rushmore, died Thursday, February 8, 2018, at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born May 1, 1933, in Rushmore, to Henry and Anna (Klingenberg) DeVries. She attended country school south of Rushmore.
Esther married Mike Krull on August 31, 1954, at the parsonage of Emmanuel Presbyterian Church south of Rushmore. After their marriage, the couple lived one mile north of Rushmore where they owned & operated Krull’s Service for twenty six years. Esther worked in the convenience store while Mike worked in the service station.
She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Rushmore. She enjoyed gardening, baking and crocheting.
Esther is survived by her husband, Mike Krull, Rushmore; three sons, Eugene "Shorty" Krull, Adrian; Merle (Brenda) Krull, Rushmore; and Lyle (Wanda) Krull, Worthington; four grandchildren, Travis (Michele) Krull, Joey Krull, Jon (April) Krull and Amy (Brandan) Parker; and four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Kailey, Madison and Michael Krull.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Larry in 1969; and two brothers, Russell and Neil DeVries.
Visitation will be from 2-4 pm Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Funeral will be 2 pm Monday at the First Presbyterian Church, in Rushmore, officiated by Pastor Dan Dettman. Burial will be in the Sunset Rest Cemetery in Rushmore.
