GERALD JAMES LEECH, age 88, of Luverne, died Monday, October 30, 2017, at the Minnesota Veterans Home in Luverne. He was born April 9, 1929, in Luverne, to Harry and Aimee (Pengra) Leech. Jerry graduated from Luverne High School in 1948. He served his country, stationed in Japan, in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Jerry married Marjorie Hoh on November 3, 1958, at the United Methodist Church in Luverne. The couple lived in Luverne. Jerry worked as an insurance agent for Minnesota Protective Life. In 1992, he retired from the insurance business and began working at Schwans; and retired after ten years.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne serving on various committees. He was also a member of the Luverne American Legion and VFW. In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Jerry is survived by his son, Todd G. Leech, Jordan; special friend, Margaret Hoh, Ellsworth; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Marjorie on April 5, 2007; an infant son, Brad in 1966; an infant daughter in 1968; and two brothers, Rex and Glenn Leech.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 pm Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne. Funeral will be 2 pm Saturday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Theodora Hall. Burial with full military honors provided by the Luverne American Legion & VFW will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
