JACKIE (JACK) KRUGER, age 83, of Worthington, died Sunday, May 28, 2017 at his home. He was born November 23, 1933 in Lake Park, IA; to parents Klaus and Edna (Coddington) Kruger. Jack attended school in Round Lake, MN. After his schooling he worked for the Rock Island Railroad. In 1953 he joined the United States Air Force and served in Korea during the Korean Conflict and received his honorable discharge in 1957.

Jack was united in marriage to Shirley Rounds on September 14, 1958 in Lake Park, IA. The couple lived most of their married life in Reading until moving to Worthington. He worked for Payless Cashway Lumber in Worthington and later for New Vision Co-op until his retirement after 33 years. The couple moved into Okabena Towers in 2007.

He was a member of the Round Lake American Legion Post 461. Jack enjoyed playing his guitar, watching old westerns and the family loved to camp and fish together.

Jack is survived by his six children, Dave (Ginger) Kruger, Eudora, KS; Teresa (Terry) Johnson, Slayton, MN; Wesley (Cindi) Kruger, Worthington, MN; Crystal (Dave) Feit, Rushmore, MN; Patrick (Dawn) Kruger, Ogden, IA; and Jason (Alfridah) Kruger, Williston, ND; fifteen grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Jerry (Linn) Rounds; and two sisters-in-law, Norma Hutt and Jan (Paul) Polesky.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley on January 22, 2010; one granddaughter, Bethany Feit; one brother; two sisters; and four brothers-in-law.

     Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m., followed by the memorial service at 11 a.m., Thursday, June 1, at Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Donald Groninga will officiate. Burial of cremains will be in Worthington Memorial Garden Cemetery. Arrangements by Dingmann Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Military Honors will be provided by the Round Lake American Legion Post 461.
