JACOB TYLER GONNERMAN, age 28, of Luverne, died Saturday, April 14, 2018, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. He was born November 20, 1989, in Luverne, to Ronald and Mary Lou (Saukerson) Gonnerman. He attended school in Luverne and later attending Ellsworth High School.
Jake married Courtney Dreesen on October 17, 2015, in Brandon, SD. The couple lived in Luverne. Jake worked near Ellsworth as a farmhand for Daniel and Harlan DeBeer before he began as a welder at Virg’s Welding & Repair in Sioux Falls, SD. He also owned and operated J & N Power Washing, in Luverne, with Nate Brands.
He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. Jake was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed darts and outdoor activities with his wife, kids and nephew Brody.
Jake is survived by his wife, Courtney Gonnerman, Luverne; daughter, Amelia and son, Wesson; parents, Ronald & Mary Lou Gonnerman, Luverne; two sisters, Trisha (Brad) Goembel, Luverne; and Sara (John) Bennetts, Sioux Falls, SD; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Kevin and Glenda Dreesen, Ellsworth; brother-in-law, Glen Dreesen, Ellsworth; paternal grandfather and grandmother-in-law, Orvel and Karen Dreesen, Ellsworth; maternal grandmother-in-law, Jan Tiesler, Little Rock, IA; and nieces & nephews, Jamie Bennetts; and Brody, Rylin, Liam and Azley Goembel.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, LeRoy and Harriet Gonnerman; Wilbur and Eleanor Saukerson; and Glen and Gayla Tiesler.
Jake’s final act of kindness was to give the gift of life through organ and tissue donation.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Thursday at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Friday at Grace Lutheran Church officiated by Pastor Ron Nichols. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
