  LEWIS STANLEY GRANT, age 74 of Worthington, died, Wednesday, November 23, 2016 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born January 26, 1942 in Adrian, MN; to parents Vernon and Dorothy (Lawrence) Grant. Lewis attended country school in rural Rushmore and graduated from Worthington High School. After his schooling he worked at Crippen’s Phillips 66 in Worthington.

   Lewis was united in marriage to to Karon Hoefker in 1962 and they made their home in Worthington. He worked for Schapp Sanitation, was a post office mail truck driver and later drove semi for Apple Lines in South Dakota for 18 years. His last job was a gas station attendant at Phillips 66 on the big corner in Worthington.

   He was a past member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Lewis enjoyed coffee at Perkins, fishing, playing Texas Hold’em and regular cards and being with his family and grandchildren.

   Lewis is survived by his wife, Karon Grant, Worthington, MN; children, Susan (Terry) Meyer, Round Lake, MN; Andy (Tonya) Grant, Sioux Falls, SD; Peggy (Jeff) Pesch, Rockford, MN; and Tina (Nathan) Kraft, Worthington, MN; his mother Dorothy Grant, Worthington, MN; seven grandchildren, Corbin, Michael, Sonja, Cody, Jasmine, Tyler and Wyatt; three great grandchildren, Lloyd, Hope and Riley; sister, Anna (Bob) Lappegard, Dickens, IA; and a brother, Gary (Barbara) Grant, Tacoma, WA.

   He was preceded in death by his father Vernon Grant.

   A time of fellowship will be Monday, November 28, 2016 from 4 to 7 PM at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington, MN. A private burial will be at a later date.
