LORNA LEE WATTS, age 80, of Luverne, died Wednesday, October 05, 2016, at the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. She was born June 23, 1936, in Hardwick, to Lawrence and Leola (Grimm) Hawes. She attended country school near Hardwick and graduated from Luverne High School in 1954. Lorna worked as a telephone operator and also as a receptionist for Dr. Odland in Luverne.
Lorna married Ralph Watts on December 15, 1956, in Luverne. The couple lived and farmed in Luverne. Lorna also worked with her husband at several businesses, including Mid-States Sporting Goods, Ralph Watts Fur Co. and Luverne Silo.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling to casinos and spending time with family.
Lorna is survived by her husband, Ralph Watts, Luverne; five children, Julie (fiancé, Bob Rocca) Watts, Maple Grove; Valerie (Terry) Egger, Alexandria; Tim Watts, Ellinwood, KS; Greg (Barb) Watts, Norfolk, NE; and Jane (Tom) Heiberger, Brandon, SD; seven grandchildren, Shelley (Brent) Thornton, Kameron Watts, Harry Heiberger, Henry Heiberger, Grace Heiberger, Danielle Watts-Boll and Austin Watts-Boll; sister, Beverly (David) Skyberg, Detroit Lakes; and Larry (Mary) Hawes, Beaver Creek.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Steven Watts; brother, Randy Hawes; and a sister, Donna Jean Knudson.
Visitation will be Saturday from 9:00 to 10:30 am at the United Methodist Church in Luverne. Funeral will be 10:30 am Saturday at the United Methodist Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Theodora Hall. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
