Margery T. (Dummer) McClintick

   MARGERY THERESA McCLINTICK, age 86, died Saturday, March 18, 2017, in her home at The Meadows in Worthington. She was born June 27, 1930, in Fairfax to Stella Elizabeth (Walser) and William Martin Dummer, who was the town doctor and died when she was six. Marge graduated from Fairfax High School in 1948 and was class valedictorian. She received her nursing degree from St. Catherine’s University in 1951.

   She worked as a registered nurse in the polio ward at General Hospital in Minneapolis for a year and a half before moving to California to work for her brother, Jerry, a physician. On Sept. 23, 1953, she married Robert Lyman McClintick, a classmate from Fairfax, who was in training for the Navy and deployed a few months later. Marge moved back to Fairfax in July 1954 and had their first of seven children.

   When her husband, “Bud,” returned from the service, they settled in Green Isle and later Norwood until 1963 when they moved to Worthington and built their home on West Shore Drive. Marge went to work as a nurse at Campbell’s Soup Company from 1965 to 1970. In 1975 she resumed her nursing career at Fauskee’s Nursing Home until returning to Campbell’s in 1988. She retired in 1994. She was active at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, where she helped with funeral dinners and Hour of Adoration on Thursdays. She volunteered as an election judge, was active with the Red Hats Society and was a lifelong and devoted Bridge Club member.

   Marge is survived by her seven children: Steve (and Nita) McClintick of Victoria; Beth McClintick of St. Louis Park; Bill McClintick of Waconia; Julie (and Jeff) Basche of Brooklyn Center; Tom McClintick of Richmond, Va.; Bob (and Lisa) McClintick of St. Cloud; and Michelle McClintick (and Dave LaDuke) of Iowa City. She also is survived by fifteen grandchildren: Heather, Amanda, Valerie, Kim, Kari, Matt, Andrew, Alison, Robert, Claire, Alexandra, Hunter, Jonathan, Katie and Kylie; five great-grandchildren; and sister Arlene Beseman and brother Tom Dummer of Edina.

   She is preceded in death by her infant twin daughters, Mary and Margaret, in 1962; her husband, Bud, in 1998; and brothers Jerry, Stan, Bob, Don and Ralph.

    Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, with parish prayers at 6 pm. Visitation also from noon to 1 pm Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. Funeral Mass will be Friday at 1 pm at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Calahan and Deacon Vern Behrends. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery.
