THOMAS LEO SEITZ, age 61, formerly of Ellsworth, died suddenly on Monday, July 24, 2017, at his home. He was born April 11, 1956, in Adrian, to Leo and Gertrude (Seivert) Seitz. He graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1975. Tom resided in Sioux Falls, SD. He enjoyed going to the library to read local newspapers. Tom especially took great pride in being a land owner. He was proud of his tree trimming business. Tom also owned & operated a furnace cleaning business called “Captain Clean”.

   Down deep inside his faith in God was important. He was a former member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellsworth; and a current member of St. Joseph Cathedral in Sioux Falls, SD.   

   Tom is survived by his eight siblings, Mary Ilgen, Hopkins; Fabian Seitz, Minneapolis; Barbara (John) Fink, Mankato; Patricia (Kenneth) Stubbe, Shakopee; Margaret (Bryce) Goembel, Luverne; Fr. James Seitz, Jackson; Susan Thies, Sioux Falls, SD; and Laurie (Tim) Block, John’s Island, SC; many nieces & nephews; and many great nieces & nephews.

   He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo in 1990; and Gertrude in 1994; brother, Bill in 1986; brother-in-law, Clifford Ilgen; sister-in-law, Marcia Seitz; and two nieces, Tara Sue and Ashley Marie Thies.

   Visitation will be from 5-7 pm with a Rosary at 4:15 pm and Parish Prayers at 7 pm on Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Ellsworth. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. James Seitz & Fr. Thomas Jennings. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery in Ellsworth.
