YVONNE "SIS" MABEL WINTER, age 90, of Worthington, died Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at her home. She was born on May 28, 1926 in Wilmont, MN; to parents Matthew and Agnes (Keary) Gerber. Sis graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic School in Wilmont. After her schooling she moved to San Francisco, CA; and worked as a key punch operator on IBM machines.

Sis was united in marriage to George A. Winter on October 9, 1945 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont. They lived in the Wilmont area before moving to Worthington in 1955.

She had various jobs in Worthington including Campbell Soup Company, manager of Mallon Egg Company, Worthington Chamber of Commerce and was office manager for 41 years at Demuth Agency from 1966 until her retirement in 2007.

Sis was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She enjoyed knitting, quilting, playing cards and going to casino’s.

She is survived by her son, Daniel and his wife Doris Winter of Wakeman, OH; daughter-in-law Connie Winter, Slayton; six grandchildren, Patrick (Mary Jo) Winter, Trevor (Heidi) Winter, Brennan Winter, Merissa (Matt) Lisbeth, Tate (Amber) Winter and Kimberly Winter; five great-grandchildren, Samantha, Pierce, Erica, Macy and Nolan; brothers, Daryl Gerber, Worthington, MN; Alan (Beverly) Gerber, Richfield, MN; Michael (Louise) Gerber, Palm Desert, CA; Claire (JoAnn) Gerber, Worthington, MN; and Dennis (Friend) Gerber, Wilmont, MN; sisters, Vivian Winter, Worthington, MN; Shirley (Gilbert) Meyer, Wilmont, MN; and Kathleen Krull, Minneapolis, MN.

Sis was preceded in death by her parents, husband George in 1988, son Dr. Keith Winter and three brothers, Maynard, Donald and James.

   Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 pm, with parish prayers at 6 pm, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Callahan. Burial will be in the St. Mary Cemetery in Worthington.
