BARBARA JEAN PIERCE, age 70, of Worthington, died, Monday June 19, 2006 at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Lakefield. She was born May 21, 1936 in Mason City, Iowa to parents Ralph and Dorothy (Thompson) Lemon. She attended school in Mason City.
Barbara married James Pierce on April 5, 1951 in Mason City. They lived for a short time in Mason City and then moved to Sterling, Illinois and in 1955 the family moved to Atlanta, Georgia. In 2001, they moved to Worthington, MN.
Barbara was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Georgia. She enjoyed doing craft work, sewing, baking and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her husband, James Pierce, Worthington; children, Jimmy Pierce, Stone Mountain, GA; Bruce (Annie) Pierce, Whitehall, Michigan; Lorrie (Andy) Wolff, Burlington, North Carolina and Jeff (Pam) Pierce, Villa Rica, Georgia; 11 grandchildren and a sister, Audrey (Roger) Westendorf, Worthington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Phyllis and Beverly, one brother, Duane and a grandchild, Keith Pierce.
