LAURA FRAKES, age 53, of Winchester, MA, formerly of Luverne, died Wednesday, June 21, 2006, at the Massachusetts General Hospital, in Boston, MA. She was born August 18, 1952, in Luverne, to Marion and Marie (Van Hunnick) Frakes. She graduated from Luverne High School in 1970. She received a degree in music from Winona State in Minnesota. She moved to Boston in 1976 and received an MBA from Suffolk University. She later received a law degree from Suffolk University.
She had her own business where she worked as a financial counselor. She loved her work and also enjoyed traveling in Europe.
She is survived by her mother, Marie Frakes, Luverne; two brothers, Dr. Gary Frakes, Houston, TX; Dr. Michael (Julie) Frakes, and their children Nicole, Sarah and Matthew, Arden Hills, MN.
Laura was preceded in death by her father, in February of 2000.
The family requests memorial contributions in lieu of flowers to the Luverne Dollars for Scholars.
