AGNES ELAINE LUPKES, age 75, of Rushmore, died Thursday, July 20, 2006, at the Arnold Memorial Health Care Center, in Adrian. She was born June 1, 1931, in Fargo, ND, to Henry and Agnes May (Dunwoody) Andersen. Agnes was raised in Fargo where she attended Agassie School and worked at the Hastey Tastey.
Agnes married Henry Lupkes on September 4, 1954 at the Eastfriesland Presbyterian Church in rural Rushmore. The couple spent most of their married lives on the farm north of Rushmore.
She was a member of the Eastfriesland Church of Christ, in Rushmore. Agnes enjoyed collecting things such as dolls, commemorative plates, spoons & saucers, playing pinochle & bingo, raising African Violets, word puzzles, crocheting and spending time with her children.
Agnes is survived by her husband, Henry Lupkes, Rushmore; two sons, David & Larry Lupkes, Rushmore; two daughters, Sally Lupkes, Las Cruces, NM; and Sherri (Paul) Ritter, Okeechobee, FL; two grandchildren, Emily & Jonathan Ritter; a brother, Bruce Andersen, Fargo, ND; and two sisters, Helen Stewart, Casper, WY; and Alice Lawrence, LaVerne, CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Clara Andersen; and three brothers, Berthel, Kenneth & John Andersen.
