LYAL VERNON ODDSON, age 84, of Worthington, died Friday, September 8, 2006, at the Minnesota Veterans Home, in Luverne. He was born October 7, 1921, near Mille Lacs Lake, to Olaus and Emelia (Olson) Oddson. He attended school in the Mille Lacs Lake area and also attended accounting school, in Mankato. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Lyal married Bessie Ann Day on September 10, 1945, in Lakefield. He worked as an accountant in Madison, SD and Worthington. Lyal lived in Iowa for a time and South Dakota and Minnesota as well. He was a life member of the Sioux Falls Disabled American Veterans. He enjoyed fishing. Lyal is survived by his wife, Bessie Oddson, Worthington; three sons and daughters-in-law, Lloyd & Jan Oddson, Sioux Falls, SD; Kerry & Crystal Oddson, Worthington; and Shane Oddson, Fulda; four daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth & Al Geslin, Eufaula, AL; Robin & Clayton Wick, Adrian; Linda Balster, Clarkfield; and LuCinda & Rick Kluever, Iowa; fifteen grandchildren; twenty five great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; and a brother, Alton Oddson, Cottonwood, AZ. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Mary Gullickson; a great grandson; a great granddaughter; and a sister, Marcella Iverson. Blessed Be His Memory.
