VIOLA EMILIE TAHLKA VOEHL, age 96, of Worthington, died Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, MN. She was born February 12, 1910 in Ewington Township, Jackson County, MN to parents John and Augusta (Seydel) Christoffer. She was baptized on May 13, 1910 and later confirmed on June 21, 1925 at the Lake Park Lutheran Church in Lake Park, MN. She attended Hitterdal Consolidated school in rural Becker County, MN.
Viola was united in marriage to Clarence J. Voehl on September 3, 1933. They farmed near Lakefield and moved to Worthington in 1957. To this union three children were born, Duane, Ardella and Leroy. Viola worked for Campbell Soup Company in Worthington and also at the Hi-Lo Club in Lakefield until she retired. After retiring, Viola spent her winters in Alamo, Texas.
Viola was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, quilting and traveling.
She is survived by her children, Duane (Carmen) Voehl, Lakefield, MN; Ardella (Ralph) Schroeder, Worthington, MN and Leroy (Marlene) Voehl, Prior Lake, MN; nine grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and one sister, Vernette (Floyd) Warling; Audubon, MN.
Viola was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
