WALTER WAYNE FRODERMANN, age 79, of Round Lake, died Saturday, October 14, 2006 at Worthington Regional Hospital. He was born February 19, 1927 at Lakefield, MN; Rost Township to August and Sena (Kluever) Frodermann. He was baptized September 23, 1934. Walter was united in marriage to Myrtle Faye Radke on August 7, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sioux Valley. They farmed in Sioux Valley Township with his parents. He worked for George Harberts for one year. They again farmed with his parents in Sioux Valley and at the Iowa lake farm. Wally and Tootie branched out into farming on their own in Round Lake Township. They later bought a farm in 1972 and Walter continued to farm the rest of his life. Walter was very active in sports. In his younger years, he played baseball. He moved onto slow-pitch softball as pitcher and manager, better known as “Casey”. He ended his softball career at the age of 52. Walt volunteered many hours running time clock for basketball for over thirty years. He also ran chains for football games. Walter was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church of Round Lake and had served on its board. He was a nine-year member of the Round Lake School Board. He was also a member of the Round Lake Sportsman Club and Community Club. He operated the road grader for Round Lake Township for many years. His big highlight of the year was going on the “annual fishing trip” with family and friends. He had a loving fondness for marigolds, honey, fresh strawberries, mulberry jam, drop donuts, sprint car racing, all sports, baking angel food cakes, and the card game Crazy Pinochle. Walt and Myrtle were blessed with a large family and usually had extra guests around the farm. Walter is survived by his wife, Myrtle Frodermann, Round Lake; four sons, Dennis (Diane) Frodermann, Jackson; Larry (Bev) Frodermann, Heron Lake; Les (Deb) Frodermann, Worthington; David (Janna) Frodermann, Brewster; three daughters, Nancy (Arn) Ihrke, Round Lake; Marlene (Dennis) Bucholz, Round Lake; Sharon (Christopher) Kondaki, Fredericksburg, VA; a foster son, Roger (Charlotte) Frodermann of Hartley, IA; and his special helper, Jim (Jimbo) Frodermann; 21 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers; ten sisters and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Ricky; one granddaughter, Rebecca; and one brother, Melvin (Bud) Frodermann. Blessed Be His Memory.
