MABEL ESTHER AXDAHL, age 96, of Luverne, formerly of Adrian, died Saturday, July 11, 2009, at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne. She was born October 6, 1912, in George, IA, to Wert and Minnie (Ackerman) Bergman. She attended schools in Iowa & Minnesota.
Mabel married Gaylord Axdahl on November 24, 1953, in Worthington. After their marriage, the couple made their home in Adrian. Mabel worked as a Nurses Aid for over thirty years. Gaylord died on April 9, 1994. Mabel moved to Luverne in 2002. In November of 2008, she moved to Poplar Creek Assisted Living.
Mabel is survived by her sister, Elva Klingler, Pea Ridge, AR; four nephews, Ervin (Elsie) Bergman, Luverne; Fransis (Arlene) Williams, Brewster; Charles (Jean) Williams, Dundee; Wayne (Audrey) Ekman, Pea Ridge, AR; two nieces, Bernice (Pete) Kracht, Rock Rapids, IA; and Lois Kleine, Luverne.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gaylord; two sisters, Alice Bergman & Sophie Williams; and a brother, George Bergman.
