RICHARD “DICK” DOBLER, age 67, of Brewster, died Thursday, October 22, 2009, at the Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. He was born October 14, 1942, in Anamoose, ND, to Waldemar and Ethel (Spears) Dobler. He graduated from Anamoose High School.
Dick married Bette Bitz on April 21, 1973, in Jamestown, ND. After their marriage, the couple lived in various cities in North Dakota, Minnesota & Wisconsin. They moved to Worthington in 1990, where Dick worked at Highland Manufacturing as a sales representative. He retired in June of 2008.
He was a very private person in his personal life. Dick enjoyed traveling with his wife, Bette, camping, fishing, reading & working in his yard. He also enjoyed many years working with and hand tooling leather projects. Dick was a wonderful salesman. He excelled in every place he worked.
Dick is survived by his wife, Bette Dobler, Brewster; brother, Doug (Karen) Dobler, Fargo, ND; stepmother, Gladys Howe, Valley City, ND; three brothers-in-law, Ron (Anita) Bitz, Algona, IA; Don (Pat) Bitz, Bismarck, ND; and Mark Bitz, Williston, ND; and several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Robert Dobler.
