MYRNA JOYCE LANGE, age 75, of Beaver Creek, died Thursday, December 31, 2009, at the Tuff Memorial Home, in Hills, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 19, 1934, in Luverne, to Olen and Alma (Steine) Emery. Myrna grew up in Luverne and graduated from Luverne High School in 1953. Myrna married Robert Arthur Lange on May 6, 1955, at Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived in Luverne. In 1966, they moved to acreage near Beaver Creek. Myrna was employed for several years at Luverne Truck. She later worked at M & M Distributing. In 1987, Myrna began working at Schwartz Manufacturing Corporation, in Sioux Falls, SD, until her retirement in 2003. The couple moved into Beaver Creek in 2002. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne; and the Ladies Circle. Myrna enjoyed attending football, basketball, tennis and baseball games of her grandchildren. She also enjoyed yard work, flowering and visiting with friends. Myrna is survived by her husband, Bob Lange, Beaver Creek; son, Jeff (Nancy) Lange, Beaver Creek; daughter, Jean Lange, Beaver Creek; three grandchildren, Sarah (Kyle) Landin, Edgerton; Josh Lange, Beaver Creek; and Abby Lange, Fargo, ND; a brother, Dennis (Wolando) Emery, California; and three sisters-in-law, Marge Emery, Dyann Emery & Judy Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Delores DeSchepper; and three brothers, Marlyn, Ron & Wayne Emery. A time of fellowship will be from 4-7 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Luverne, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. A memorial service will be 2 pm Tuesday at Grace Lutheran Church, in Luverne, officiated by Rev. Gloria Anderson. A private burial of cremains will be at a later date.
