GERALDINE V. ADAMSON, age 89, of Luverne, died Tuesday, June 22, 2010, at Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Center in Luverne. She was born August 6, 1921, in Vermillion, SD, to Walter and Alice (Brown) Christopherson. Geraldine attended and graduated from the Vermillion High School.
Geraldine was united in marriage to Harold Adamson on August 8, 1939, in Vermillion. After their marriage they moved to Centerville, SD and farmed for twenty two years. She worked as a riveter building airplanes in Chicago for a few years while her husband served in WWII. They moved to Luverne in 1967 where she worked at Arnies Grocery Store, J.C. Penny, Hytek Water Softener, and later worked for Southwest Opportunity Council as an outreach worker.
She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne, RSVP, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and Luverne Senior Citizens.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Cindy (Scott) Barnes, Luverne; two grandchildren, Adam and David Smedsrud; three great-grandchildren, Megan, Damian, and Wesley Smedsrud; four sisters, Joyce Ashmore, Elk Point, SD; Bonnie Hustrulid, Beresford, SD; Betty Hansen, Vermillion, SD; Lela (Deryl) Kruse, Vermillion, SD.
