AAGOT S. OLDRE, age 80, of Luverne, died, Friday, July 2, 2010 at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills. She was born December 6, 1929 in Luverne to parents Ben and Karen (Tofteland) Kvaas. She attended country school and graduated from Luverne High School. After her schooling she worked at Tri State Insurance Company in Luverne. Aagot was united in marriage to Vernon “Doc” Oldre on September 4, 1950 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple farmed southwest of Kenneth. They moved to Alabama in 1950 where Doc was stationed while serving in the National Guard. In 1953 they moved to rural Kenneth and farmed. In 1960, the family relocated to the farm south of Luverne. After the death of her husband in 2005, Aagot moved to Luverne. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Luverne. She was a Sunday school teacher and co-chair of Day of Doing. Aagot volunteered for many church activities and was a member of the GLCW. She also participated in the pink ladies and the red hats. She enjoyed reading, sewing, quilting, making greeting cards, playing cards, bowling, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Gale & Laura Oldre, Watertown, SD; Barb Oldre, Luverne, MN; Sharan & Gary Honermann, Adrian, MN and Bryce “Doc” Ellie Oldre, Luverne, MN six grandchildren, Shelly (Keith) Spartz, Eric Oldre, Kristi (Randy) Liepold, Grant Oldre, Kirk Oldre and Macy Oldre, four great-grandchildren, Tarren, Jayden, Jaxson, and Kason Spartz and one sister-in-law, Ellen (Cleo) Kjenslee, Mankato, MN. Aagot is preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers.
