In Memory of Barney Honermann
Adrian Elementary School Students and Staff
Adrian Elementary students are thinking about Barney this week. Barney made a difference in the lives of our students. He worked as a custodian at the elementary school from 1995-1999, and spread his good cheer to our students and staff each day. For many years, including this year, Barney made sure that every student enrolled at Adrian Public Schools received a Christmas present of a candy cane. In return, our students would make cards for Barney and someone from the school would bring them to him. Barney was a guest at our school some years, and the kids would gather around him to thank him for his generosity. Barney had a passion for helping kids. He spoke fondly of his school days, and he hoped and prayed that every child had a good home and good teachers. All of the students and staff at Adrian Public Schools will remember Barney as a kind, generous, and thoughtful person. Blessed be his memory.

Uncle Barney, you had a heart of gold. My big regret is that we did not live close enough so that I could get to know you better. You will be missed.

Sorry to hear of Barney''s passing. What a nice neighbor he was to my parents John and Irene. Growing up I remember Barney working in his garden and the great rubarb patch. He always took time to visit with me. God bless his soul.
