ANDREW THOMAS WESSELS, age 36, of Steen, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born February 11, 1976, in Luverne, to Mike and Carol (Van Engelenhoven) Wessels. He attended Luverne Elementary School and graduated from Luverne High School in 1994. Andy worked at Remme Construction in Luverne; and at the Last Stop Bar in Hills. He enjoyed playing poker & darts, managing his fantasy football team, hanging out with friends and especially playing with his daughters.
Andy is survived by his special friend, Misty Kolbrek, Steen; two daughters, Mekayla & Lexxus, both in Steen; father, Mike Wessels, Luverne; two sisters, Christal (Dan) Serie, Luverne; and April (Derek) Sailor, Sioux Falls, SD; six nieces & nephews, Carly, Ben, Will & Tori Serie; and Hazel & Griffin Sailor; paternal grandparents, Norman & Joyce Wessels, Luverne; and maternal grandparents, Gerrit & JoAnn Van Engelenhoven, Luverne.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carol Wessels; and a niece, Lucie Sailor.
Visitation will be from 5-8pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral will be 10:30am Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, in Luverne, officiated by Rev. Terry Morse. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
