ALMA C. KROGMAN, age 101, formerly of Lismore, died Sunday, April 29, 2018, at the St. Anthony Health Care and Rehabilitation, in St. Anthony, MN. She was born April 15, 1917, in Lismore, to Nick and Jenny (Spitz) Bach. She graduated from St. Anthony Catholic High School, in Lismore, in 1934.
Alma married Linus “Lee” Krogman on June 2, 1938, at St. Anthony Catholic Church. The couple lived in Lismore. Alma worked various jobs over the years, including Campbell’s Soup, school lunch cook at St. Anthony School in Lismore, cashier at Nickerson Farms in Adrian, and with Lee in the Lismore Municipal Bar. She was one of the original waitresses at the Ritz Ballroom in Lismore. Lee died in April of 1979. Alma moved to Luverne in 2011. In 2014, she moved to St. Anthony.
She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore; a 60-year member of Catholic Daughters; and a charter member of the Lismore American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to dance, and bowled on ladies’ leagues in Adrian and Wilmont into her 80s.
Alma is survived by her daughter, Karla Gedell (partner, Alan Rust), Roseville; two grandchildren, Justine (Ed) Greene, Shoreview; and Cinnamon (Steve) Glassbrenner, Minnetonka; and four great-grandchildren, Ayla, Amanda, Cecelia and Vaughn.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee; son-in-law, Rick Gedell; three brothers, Ed, Norbert, and Don Bach; and two sisters, Madelyn Sjodahl and Vera Hulbert.
A time of fellowship will be from 10 to 11 am Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lismore. Funeral Mass will be 11 am Friday at St. Anthony Catholic Church officiated by Fr. David Krogman. Burial of cremains will be at the St. Anthony Cemetery in Lismore.
