BEVERLY ELLEFSON, age 90, of Elk River, formerly of Worthington, died Wednesday, August 14, 2019, at the Elk River Senior Living. She was born February 11, 1929, in Worthington, to Charles and Lillian (Pass) Lopshire. She grew up in the Worthington area and graduated from Worthington High School in 1947. After graduation, she worked for a short time for the city of Worthington. Beverly then worked at the Nobles County ASC office for five years. In 1953, she moved to Montana.
Beverly married George E. Brock Jr. on February 27, 1954, in Livingston, MT. She was employed at the ASC office in Bozeman, MT; and later worked at the ASC office in Sheridan, WY. The couple later divorced.
She attended Granite Falls Vocational School in 1964. After completing the accounting course, Beverly began work at Southwestern Minnesota Opportunity Council in Pipestone. She worked at this agency until retiring in 1993.
Beverly married Flavian "Jiggs" Ellefson on October 5, 1990, in Sioux Falls, SD. The couple made their home in Worthington. Jiggs died on January 1, 2000 after a battle with cancer.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington; Her favorite time was spent outdoors working in the yard and garages. She liked watching the Twins and visiting family as often as possible. She dearly loved her dogs and her cat.
Beverly is survived by her three children, William (Stephanie) Brock, Shelbyville, TN; Charles (Dena) Brock, Chesapeake, VA; and Melanie (Todd) Kipfer, Elk River; a sister, Jean Peterson, Maplewood; eight grandchildren, Ryan (Jamie) Brock, Trevor Brock, Dustin Brock, Daleena (Charlie) Reeves, Brandon Brock, Jason (Jeni) Hagen, Matthew (Amber) Hagen and Nicholas (Holly) Hagen; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces & nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Mass will be 12 pm Saturday Sept. 14, at Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated By Fr. James Callahan. A time of fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at Dingmann Funeral Home on Saturday.
