DAVID NORBERT ROEDER, age 76, of Worthington, died Saturday, March 31, 2018, at his home. He was born September 4, 1941, on the family farm near Wilmont, in rural Nobles County, to Joseph and Philomena (Cook) Roeder. He was one of eight children.
In May of 1988, David moved to Worthington and began working in the woodshop at The Achievement Center. David loved music, and he loved to dance. He would spend hours drawing pictures of cookies, coffee cups, animals or anything he was thinking about at the time. He loved being outside and watching the birds, he also loved animals, caring for numerous pets over the years, and he had two cats, "Stevie Boy" and "Sheila Girl" who have passed on. After retiring in 2006, David would never turn down a cup of coffee while visiting with friends.
He is survived by his three sisters, Lucy Gilbert, Texas; Darlene Emke, Illinois; and Alvina Groth, Illinois; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and four siblings.
Visitation will be from 6-7 pm Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Burial will be 2 pm Thursday at St. Kilian Catholic Cemetery.
