DUANE JOSEPH BALSTER, age 61, of Worthington, formerly of Wilmont, died Sunday, October 28, 2018, at his home. He was born June 17, 1957, in Worthington, to Lawrence and Lorraine (Bruns) Balster. He attended school in Rushmore.
He worked at TAC for a few years then worked at Schaap Sanitation for approximately twenty years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, miniature golf, bowling, playing cards and especially watching the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.
Duane is survived by his five siblings, Shirley Gengler, Eden Prairie; Alan (Sharon) Balster, Wilmont; Daryl (Cindy) Balster, Wilmont; Roger (Pam Peterson) Balster, Brandon, SD; and Barbara (Daniel) Snyder, Burnsville; nine nieces & nephews, Michael (Seaneen) Gengler, Scott (Lori) Gengler, Joshua Balster, Amy (Nathan) Groninga, Ashley (Nathan) Harberts, Troy Balster, Stacey (Scott) Jacobson, Matthew (Erin) Snyder and Anna (Matthew) Witham; and many great nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother-in-law, David Gengler.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 6:30 pm, with parish prayers at 6:30, Thursday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Wilmont. Visitation also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti and Deacon Vern Behrends. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Wilmont.
