EMANUEL J. WOLF, age 88, of Adrian, died Friday, April 14, 2017, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. He was born January 11, 1929, to Julius and Anastasia (Kusser) Wolf on his parents farm near Remsen, IA. He was baptized and received his first communion in St. Mary Catholic Church in Remsen. Emanuel moved with his family to a farm south of Adrian in March of 1939. He attended country school in Iowa, St. Mary Parochial School in Remsen, and parochial school in Adrian & Ellsworth. After completing the eighth grade, he stayed home and helped his parents on the farm while his older brothers went into the service.

   Emanuel married Arlene Jonas on May 2, 1950, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. After their marriage, the couple farmed southeast of Adrian. They retired and moved to Adrian in 1988. Arlene died on February 14, 1995.

   Emanuel married Helen Hudson on August 1, 1997, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. The couple lived in Adrian. Helen died on December 15, 2016.

   He was a member of St. Adrian Catholic Church; the St. Adrian Knights of Columbus, where he had served as Past Grand Knight; the St. Joseph’s Society for over fifty years, where he had served as Past President; the Catholic Aid Society; the Luverne Country Club Board; and for twenty five years, he served on the Sioux Valley Milk Board. He enjoyed gardening, most all sports including, fishing, bowling, dancing, playing cards, cribbage, golfing, watching the Minnesota Twins & Vikings, and wintering in Mesa, AZ for over twenty seven years. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and going to their events.

   Emanuel is survived by his eight children, Don (LaVonne) Wolf, Adrian; Bob (Cindy) Wolf, Adrian; Daryl (friend, Carol) Wolf, Brandon, SD; Mary (Allen) Johnson, Chandler, AZ; Rose (Wes) Henriksen, Adrian; Virginia (Garry) Drost, Rushmore; Allen (Jody) Wolf, Adrian; and Alice (Mike) Peiper, Brandon, SD; twenty grandchildren; thirty two great grandchildren; four step children, Larry (Carolyn) Hudson, West Lafayette, IN; Alan (Bonnie) Hudson, Temecula, CA; David (Diane) Hudson, Cedar Falls, IA; and Gayle (David) Steinquist, Winona; eleven step grandchildren; fourteen step great grandchildren; sister, Elizabeth Burkard, Worthington; and two sisters-in-law, Joanne Wolf, Worthington; and Joan Wolf, Clara City.

   He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives; a sister, Lorraine Wieneke; and four brothers, Bill Neuheisel, LeRoy, Roman and Joe Wolf.

   Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Tuesday, with a Rosary at 3:30 and Parish prayers at 7 pm, at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian. Visitation also from 10 to 10:45 am Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be 11 am Wednesday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian, officiated by Fr. Andrew Beerman. Burial will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
