Francisco Chavez Obituary

FRANCISCO MARTINEZ CHAVEZ, age 54, of Worthington, died Thursday, April 25, 2019, at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO. He was born September 16, 1964, in Purepero Mexico, to Antonio and Etelvina Martinez.

Francisco married Gloria Nieto on January 26, 1987, in California. The couple moved to Worthington in 1996. Francisco worked at JBS in Worthington.

He was a very active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. He was in charge of the Eucharistic Ministers for over twenty two years. Francisco enjoyed many kinds of sports including basketball, football and especially soccer. He also enjoyed music.

Francisco is survived by his wife, Gloria, Worthington; three sons, Francisco Martinez Jr., Edeberto Martinez and Ramiro Martinez all of Worthington; his father, Antonio, California; and eight siblings, Ramiro, Maria De la Luz, Margarita, Javier, Luciano, Jose Luis, Ana Maria and Teresa Martinez.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Etelvina; and his brother, Antonio.

   Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 am Friday at St. Mary Catholic Church officiated by Fr. James Callahan and Fr. Miguel Pranos. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.

   Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, is in charge of arrangements.
