Gary Lee

GARY LEE, age 62 of Magnolia, Minnesota, died Tuesday, December 25, 2018 at the Hospice Cottage in Luverne, Minnesota.  He was born in Luverne to Walt and Lila (Herschberger).  Gary graduated from Magnolia High School in 1974.  Gary farmed for a year with his dad and then went to work for the Magnolia Elevator.

Gary married Vickie Sickles on December 6, 2002 on the pier in Fort Myers, Florida.  The couple lived in Magnolia where Gary managed the elevator.  Gary worked for the elevator for 42 years.  In 2008 the Southwest Minnesota Farmers Coop merged with CHS.  Gary’s position moved to Luverne in 2010 when he became the general manager of the Eastern Region of CHS.  He was still employed by CHS at the time of his death.

Gary enjoyed traveling and fishing.  He liked to travel to different areas of the world.  His favorite times were getting together with friends.   Gary was fortunate to have gotten to work with his friends and customers.    He also was a member of the Magnolia Fire Department and served on the Magnolia City Council for 12 years.

Gary is survived by his wife Vickie, Magnolia; one brother, Mark (Jo) Lee, Dell Rapids, SD; two sisters, Terry (Vic) Rueb, Luverne, Minnesota; and Patty (Bill) Creamer, Moore, Montana.  He also is survived by two nephews and one niece.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Walt and Lila Lee.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.  In leu of flowers, please make a donation to Harvest for Hunger in Gary’s name.
