Gerald "Gary" J. Madison

   GERALD "GARY" JOSEPH MADISON, age 77, of Adrian MN died Monday, October 15, 2018, at his home. He was born April 30, 1941, in Nobles County, to Vincent Floyd and Alma (Wieneke) Madison. Gary graduated from St. Adrian Catholic High School. Following high school, Gary worked at Campbell’s Soup in Worthington, MN. A short time thereafter, Gary met the love of his life and married Karen Kay Sykora on November 6, 1965, in Worthington wherein they established their family. Gary supported his family by working as a carpenter for Fleetwood Homes in Worthington – thus his passion for wood working. Gary then decided to move his family to the farm wherein he grew up on – northwest of Adrian in 1972. Gary and his family lived on the farm for another 10 years when Gary moved his family into Adrian. He continued to work on the farm until he just couldn’t continue. In 2003 to present, he began working at the Adrian Country Club wherein he made friends, who he considered to be his second family. Additionally, Gary enjoyed working at the Adrian State Bank as a maintenance man. He loved – thrived – to work especially having the opportunity to help people out. Most important, of course, was his family and friends. He was blessed with the "gift of gab" and he would talk to anyone who would listen.

Gary is survived by his wife, Karen Madison, Adrian; two daughters, Lisa (Paul) Guetter, Hastings; and Kelly (Tim) Ahrenstorff, Sioux Valley; five grandchildren, Cody (friend, Christina) Guetter (currently serving in Afghanistan), Kerilee (Joseph) Ramponi, Taylor (Kelly) Ahrenstorff, Talia Ahrenstorff, and Kiera Ahrenstroff; two great-grandchildren, Roman Ramponi and Blake Ahrenstorff; four brothers, Edward Madison, Madison SD; LeRoy (Alverna) Madison, Wilmont; Morris (Brenda) Madison, Aurora, CO; and Earl (Marilyn) Madison, Adrian; and four sisters, Rita (Dick) Becker, Henderson, NV; Joyce (friend, Harold) Farragher, Worthington; Dianne (Joe) Beckmann, Wilmont; and Margaret (friend, Gene) Pick, Luverne.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and three sisters Janet Madison, Joan Taylor and Agnes Beckmann, and four brother-in-laws Harold, Jerry, Phil and Jim.

   A time of fellowship will be from 2-3 pm Friday at St. Adrian Catholic Church, in Adrian. A Memorial Mass will be 3 pm Friday at St. Adrian Catholic Church officiated by Monsignor Richard Colletti. Burial of cremains will be in the St. Adrian Cemetery.
