Goldie Boelman Obituary

   GOLDIE ROSALYN BOELMAN, age 96, of Luverne, died Tuesday, May 22, 2018, at the Ava’s House Hospice in Sioux Falls, SD. She was born to Herman and Anna (Rubbie) Siemer on August 12, 1921 at home in Westside Township in Nobles County - North of Ellsworth, MN.  Goldie later moved with her family East of Ellsworth where she attended country school for eight years and then graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1940.  She worked in the Ellsworth Bank for several years following graduation.

   On June 6, 1946, Goldie married Marvin Rudolph Boelman at the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth, MN.  In 1947, they moved to the Boelman farm near Ash Creek where they raised their four daughters: Trudy, Debra, Gail and Jodie.  In the spring of 1969, the couple purchased and moved to the Lehmann farm west of Luverne and enjoyed farm life until retirement in 1995 when they built a new home on Linden Street in Luverne, MN.  Marvin passed away on August 1, 1999. Goldie sold her home in the late summer of 2013 and moved to the Senior Apartment complex at the Oaks in Luverne, MN. On December 26, 2017, she became a resident of the Parkview Manor Nursing Home in Ellsworth, MN. 

   She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, in Luverne, and was also an active circle member.  Goldie was also a member of the Luverne Lions Club for 25 years.  Volunteering as a seamstress at the Luverne Vets Home was something she really enjoyed helping with.

   Goldie is survived by her four daughters, Trudy Boelman, San Diego, CA; Debra Ringkob, Jackson; Gail (Rick) Harmelink, Inwood, IA; and Jodie (Arthur) Schott, Sioux Falls, SD; seven grandchildren, John (Jeani) Ringkob-Highlands Ranch, CO.; Mark (Jennifer) Ringkob-Edina, MN; Brad (Kelsey Hart) Vander Woude-Sioux Falls, SD; Brent (Grace Oren) Vander Woude-Sioux Falls, SD; Scott Vander Woude-Sioux Falls, SD; and Jill and Matthew Schott –Sioux Falls, SD; six great-grandchildren, Jacob, Leah and Peter Ringkob-Highlands Ranch, CO; Riley Vander Woude-Sioux Falls, SD; and Benjamin and Andrew Ringkob-Edina, MN; and two sisters-in-law, Adeline and Enore Boelman.

   She was preceded in death by her parents:  Herman and Anna (Rubbie) Siemer; husband, Marvin; one sister, Drusilla Catherine Siemer; one brother, Elmer Lynn Siemer; a son-in-law, Kent Ringkob and Grand Dog-Sophie.

   Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Friday at the First Presbyterian Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Jason Cunningham. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne
