JOHN "TERRY" HANSEN, age 79, of Worthington formerly of Brewster, died Saturday, January 6, 2018 at South Shore Care Center in Worthington. John was born March 11, 1938, in Kansas City, MO; as an infant he was adopted by John and Kate Hansen, and they lived in Sioux Valley, where he attended school and graduated from Sioux Valley High School.

After his schooling he lived for a short time in southern California, and in 1961 he returned to southwest MN. On March 9, 1963 he married Beverly Haugland in Lakefield. They were residents of southwest Minnesota all their married lives. They owned and operated the B &T Drive Inn in Lakefield for six and a half years. After selling the business they moved to Brewster in 1978, he then began a career as an over the road truck driver.

Terry was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, doing crossword puzzles in the Daily Globe and playing poker on his computer.

Terry is survived by his two children Robert (Erin) Hansen, Leesburg, VA; and Stephanie (Kelly) Eggers, Worthington; five grandchildren, Taylor, Tyler, Keith, Ashley and Katie, two great-grandchildren, Ellah and Ronni.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Beverly in 1999, and one sister Bernice.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., followed by the memorial service at 8 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 10, at Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington. Pastor Bailey Fossum will officiate. Private burial will be at a later date.
