Landel "Boysie" Bullerman Obituary

LANDEL “BOYSIE” LINUS BULLERMAN, age 87, of Adrian, died Thursday, April 11, 2019 at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. He was born July 26, 1931, to Frank and Henrietta (Loosbrock) Bullerman, on the family farm northeast of Adrian where he resided to this day. He attended St. Adrian Catholic School.  Boysie enlisted in the United States Navy on February 24, 1952. He served on two different ships that saw action in Korea and Japan. Boysie received the Republic of Korea Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.

Boysie married Marlene Reese on September 3, 1956, at St. Adrian Catholic Church. Their marriage was an example of love and strength. They were rarely seen apart, particularly these last years. Their bond was special and together they raised a special family. The couple farmed near Rushmore for several years before moving to the family farm northeast of Adrian.  He retired from farming in 1993. Boysie worked as a field reporter for ASCS from 1991 to 2005. He was a member of St. Adrian Catholic church, a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus; the Adrian American Legion; and a lifelong member of the Luverne VFW Post 2752.

Boysie loved the farm. He took great pride in the cattle and hogs that he raised. However, his biggest pride and joy were his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was always ready to give a hug and offer encouragement and support. He cherished every moment with his family and was a co-cookie baker for the annual "Cookie Day" celebrated by the entire family.

Boysie is survived by his wife, Marlene Bullerman, Adrian, three sons, Tom (Trisha) Bullerman, Adrian; Bob (Lori) Bullerman, Pipestone; and Randy (Renee) Bullerman, Adrian; two daughters, Jayne Kathman (friend Brett Wittry), Sioux Falls, SD; and Lori "Odie"(John) Stoffel, Luverne; a daughter-in-law, Toni Bullerman, Adrian; thirteen grandchildren, Dallas (Heather) Bullerman, Brandi, (Marty) Weiss, Jill (Jeremy) Van Ede, Tyler (friend Hilary Voss) Bullerman, Trent (Christine) Bullerman, Ryan (Brandee) Bullerman, Adam (Teresa) Bullerman, Erik (Andrea) Kathman, JeRae Freiborg (friend Brenton Johnson), Jodi (Derek) Erlandson, Dawn (Micah) Boomgaarden, Whitney (Eric) Harnack, and Trever (Britton) Stoffel; 25 great-grandchildren; a sister, Elaine Kellen, a sister-in-law, Catherine (Bob) Bauer and many, many nieces and nephews.
