LOUISE ANN WICKSTROM, age 71, of Worthington, died Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at the Northridge Care Center in New Hope. She was born October 11, 1947, in Minneapolis, to William and Mary-Ann (Neslund) Benson. She attended Macalester College and received her Associate Arts Degree at the Worthington Community College.
Louise managed the Northland Mall in Worthington before she worked at the Worthington High School as an Administrative Assistant for over twenty years. She was united in marriage to Delbert Wickstrom on January 8, 1998, in the Dominican Republic. The couple resided on a Century Farm south of Worthington. Louise taught piano lessons for many years.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Worthington where she played organ. Louise was an advocate for scholastic achievement. She was very involved in the Worthington Dollars for Scholars where she served as Treasurer. She was part of the ALBS musical ensemble which were instrumental in raising funds for the community Christmas Basket Program. She enjoyed playing bridge, making crafts, embroidery, sewing and decorating.
Louise is survived by her husband, Delbert Wickstrom, Worthington; two sons, Matthew (Kari) Redding, Mendota Heights; and William Redding, Eden Prairie; three grandchildren, Jacob, Sophia and Haley Redding; and her sister, Mary (Robert) Kovell, St. Cloud.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Fritz Benson.
Visitation will be from 3-6 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Saturday at the Indian Lake Baptist Church, in rural Worthington, officiated by Pastor Jonathan Larson. Burial will be in the Worthington Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
