MARIAN E. PHILIPP, age 87, of Worthington, died Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington, after a courageous battle with a debilitating condition. Her devotion to her family as well as her firm belief in God supported her in daily challenges which ultimately gave her peace. She was born to the late Walter and Meta Meyer, in Fairmont, MN on July 29, 1932. She grew up on the Monterey homestead with seven brothers and two sisters. She has lived in Worthington for 49 years. Marian was very fond of children and formerly worked as an educational aide at Worthington Public School District 518, focusing on Reading and Math, until her retirement. She was an active member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church.
Marian is survived by her five children, Dave Jonathan (LuAnn) Philipp of Worthington; Gail Lesley (Gerald) Dorna of Richmond, Indiana; Eddy Christopher Philipp of Worthington; Ross William Philipp of Worthington; and Jane Marianne (Ralph) Anderson of Worthington; ten grandchildren, Jeremiah Philipp, Jessica (Roman) Marjamaa, JoAnn Philipp, Jaclyn (JP) Sigmon, Johnny (Katie) Zehme, Erika Anderson (Ray Slinger), Tyler Anderson, Jonas (Stevie Reebie), Jared and Julia Philipp; eight great-grandchildren, Brody and Isabelle Sigmon, Piper and Ivhon Marjamaa, Hunter, Violet, and Aspen Slinger, and Jewel Philipp; five siblings, Arlene Janzen, Kenneth Meyer, James (Judy) Meyer, Dennis (Sandy) Meyer, and Wesley Meyer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by the father of their children; her parents; three brothers; one sister; two sisters-in-law; and two brothers-in-law.
A private family committal of cremains will be at a later date.
Dingmann Funeral Home & Cremation Services, in Worthington, is assisting the family with arrangements.
