PAMELA ANN SHANE, age 63, of Worthington, died Friday, August 16, 2019, at her home. She was born October 11, 1955, in Worthington, to William and Elfie (Hackmann) Decker. She graduated from Worthington High School; and later from Worthington Community College with a degree in nursing.
Pamela married Patrick Shane in 1981. The couple lived in Worthington; and later divorced. Pamela worked as a LPN at the Worthington Regional Hospital and later served as the head of the Nurses Union when the hospital became the Sanford Worthington Regional Medical Center. She retired in 2017.
She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. She enjoyed traveling, watching the Minnesota Twins, riding motorcycle with her best friend, and especially spending time with her friends and grandchildren.
Pamela is survived by her two daughters, Tess Shane, Worthington; and Lisa Shane, Worthington; six grandchildren, Christian Shane, Kaden Hanks, Noah Hanks, Antonia Vallejo, Ariala Vallejo and Avonta Chavarria; special friend, Darwin Kelm, Garretson, SD; a sister, Sandra (Jerry) Wiertzema; and a brother, James Decker, Worthington.
She was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Ashanta Chavarria; and a nephew, James Decker.
A celebration of life will be 5 pm Friday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Callahan. A time of fellowship will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Friday. A private family committal of cremains will take place at a later date.
