RHONDA LEE HIBMA, age 72, of Worthington, died Tuesday, May 7, 2019, at the Sanford Worthington Medical Center. She was born April 30, 1947, in Burlington, IA. As a young girl, Rhonda was adopted by Harm and Hazel (Wood) Stopsack. She graduated from Worthington High School in 1965.
Rhonda married Minard "Mike" Hibma on June 12, 1971, in Worthington. The couple lived in Worthington where Rhonda worked as a bank teller at the State Bank of Worthington. Rhonda later worked as a Teacher’s Aide in the Worthington West Elementary School. She later retired because of health reasons.
She was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Worthington. She enjoyed crafting, flowers and her cats
Rhonda is survived by her husband, Mike Hibma, Worthington; son, Jody (Julie) Hibma, Detroit Lakes; two twin granddaughters, Maddie & Naomi Hibma, Detroit Lakes; and a half-sister, Wilma Soener, Papillion, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A time of fellowship will be from 7-9 pm Sunday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Memorial Service will be 2 pm Monday at the Dingmann Funeral Home, in Worthington, officiated by Pastor Gary Andersen. Burial of cremains will be in the Worthington Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Children’s Home Society in Sioux Falls, SD.
