Rose Marjorie (Kruse) Meester

   ROSE MARGORIE MEESTER, age, 97, of Ellsworth, died Monday, June 24, 2019, at the Sanford Sunset Hospice Cottage in Worthington. She was born September 28, 1921, on a farm in Lyon County, IA, to Dick Uffe and Jennie (Wiertzema) Kruse. She attended country school in rural Nobles County District #14.

   Rose married Ike R. “Robert” Meester on December 17, 1947, at the Zion Presbyterian Church Parsonage in Ellsworth. The couple lived in Ellsworth all of their married lives. Rose was known to be a very hard worker. She worked alongside her husband, Robert, in his feed grinding business in Ellsworth. Rose also tilled many neighborhood gardens; and drove bus for the Ellsworth, Magnolia and Adrian School Districts. Robert died in 1986, and Rose continued to live in Ellsworth.

   She attended Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. Rose was a member of the Royal Neighbors; and she enjoyed bowling.

   Rose is survived by her sister, Martha Lursen, Adrian; sister-in-law, Barbara Kruse, Adrian; and many nieces & nephews; great nieces & nephews; and great great nieces & nephews.

   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Meester; sister, Elva Kruse; and three brothers, Jacob, Herman and Jake Kruse.

   Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Thursday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Adrian; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Funeral will 2 pm Friday at the Zion Presbyterian Church, in Ellsworth, officiated by Pastor Paul Snyder. Burial will be in the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Ellsworth.
