Vernon Caster

VERNON CASTER, age 82, of Worthington, died Monday, September 23, 2019, at the Crossroads Care Center in Worthington. He was born August 3, 1937, in Worthington, to Jay and Ora (Brunner) Caster. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1955.

Vernon married Grace Immens in 1956, they had six children and later divorced. He married Jeanette Schnasa in 2006. He lived in Worthington area until 1966. They moved to Chicago, IL for work and moved back to the Worthington area in 1993. Through the years Vernon worked as a truck driver, had an upholstery business, Prairie House, construction jobs and last at Caseys General Store.

He was a member of the Indian Lake Baptist Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, camping, playing the keyboard and organ.

Vernon is survived by his wife Jeanette; nine children, Bonita (James) Budzynski, James (Lori) Caster, Linda Caster, Lynette Caster, Robert (Chasidy) Caster, Michelle (Christopher) Cummings, Jim (Lori) Schnasa, Harold (Stacie) Schnasa, Brenda (Scott) Tonjes, thirty two grandchildren, twenty six great grandchildren, brother, Burdette (Marjorie) Caster, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Delbert and an infant sister Galetta.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Thursday September 26, at Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington, and also one hour prior at church. Service will be at 11:00 on Friday September 27, 2019 at Indian Lake Baptist Church. Officiated by Rev. Jonathan Larson.
