I remember Bert from the neighborhood. We lived about 4 blocks from where he lived in Adrian. He always seemed quiet, and very smart. He was active in the plays in high school and was pretty darn good. Bert was a student mentor and always had time to help others with study questions. I remember seeing him very often in the library where I mentored elementary reading. He was very kind and never had a harsh word for any one.
My deepest condolences to his family.
May wonderful memories help you through this difficult time.

Dear J.R.,
Sincere sympathy on the death of your father. As your teacher, I was always impressed with his support for your education and your interests. When I shared with him some of your humor, we had a good chuckle. He really cared for you and it showed. He and your mother were always gracious to us when we attended parties that honored you and celebrated your achievements.
Best Regards and Sincere Sympathy,
Mrs. Herman
