ADELINE BOELMAN, age 100, of Ellsworth, died Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in Torrington, CT, where she resided with her daughter's family. She was born March 6, 1923, in Nobles County, MN, to Ben and Gertrude (Smook) Hisken. She attended country school west of Ellsworth through 8th grade and was later employed at the Luverne National Bank in the bookkeeping department.  She eventually worked as charge nurse at Park View Manor nursing home in Ellsworth for more than a decade.

Adeline married Raymond Boelman on October 6, 1944. The couple farmed near Ashcreek and then west of Ellsworth, beginning in 1945, where they raised their three children. Zion Presbyterian Church has been central to Adeline's faith. Not only were she and Ray married at Zion; their three children were baptized and confirmed there. Daughters Mary K. and Gloria were also married there. In 1955, the family farmed near Kanaranzi until they retired. They built a home in Ellsworth, and Ray worked as a maintenance engineer in the Ellsworth Public School. In retirement, Ray and Adeline split their time between warm Texas winters and beautiful Minnesota summers. They loved fishing and visiting friends and relatives across the US.  Adeline will be remembered for her love of family, baking and crafting, and her generosity, sweetness, and kindness.

Adeline is survived by her two children, Daryle Boelman, Corvallis, MT; and Mary K. (Dan) Setness, Torrington, CT; nine grandchildren, Scott (Angie) Boelman, Corvallis, MT; Susan Boelman, Corvallis, MT; Shawn (Amy) Boelman, Corvallis, MT; Steven (Susie) Boelman, Corvallis, MT; Alex (Christine) Setness, Edgemont, NY; Krister Setness, New York, NY; Jeff (Doreen) Heikes, Sioux Falls, SD; Brian (Tena) Heikes, Brandon, SD; and Melissa (Tyler) Artlip, Bismarck, ND; great grandchildren, Isaac (Bonnie) and Dillon Boelman, Amanda and Bennett Boelman, Sophie and Amelia Boelman, Kiera and Caitlin Setness, Allison and Emmet Heikes, Chloe and Josie Heikes, Lydia and Natalie Artlip; and great-great grandchildren, Kamea and Landon Boelman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ray on December 19, 2015; daughter, Gloria; son-in-law, Ron Heikes; and daughter-in-law, Jean Boelman

Visitation will be from 4-6 pm Friday, Dec. 29 at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Saturday at the Zion Presbyterian Church in Ellsworth. Burial will be at the Grand Prairie Cemetery in Ellsworth.
