AGNES MAE BAUER, age 96, of Lewisville, TX, formerly of Adrian, fell asleep and woke up in the presence of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, August 28, 2007, at her daughters home. Agnes was born on August 14, 1911, to parents, Peter and Martja ?Martha? (Kruse) Fehr in Manfred, North Dakota. Her family later moved to the East Grand Forks Minnesota area. She met Andrew K. Bauer, a farmer who had immigrated from Germany. They were married February 27, 1935. They bought their first and present farm, south of Adrian, in 1944. They raised five children. Agnes was known for her delicious June bearing strawberries. She was also known for her tireless work ethics. She helped many a neighbor with raising their children. She was a former member of the First Baptist Church in George, IA; and later, a life long member of the First Baptist Church in Adrian, where she taught Sunday school for over twenty five years. At age 62, Agnes began work at the Arnold Memorial Nursing Home in Adrian. She worked in housekeeping and later as a nurse?s aid. At age 73, she quit her job to take care of her husband, Andrew who suffered from Alzheimer Disease. It was at this time Andrew and Agnes lived with the Magnuson?s at Camp Lebanon in Upsala, MN. In the fall of 1984 the couple returned. After Andrew?s death in 1989 Agnes continued living on the farm until March 2001, when she became ill and spent several months in the Arnold Memorial Nursing Home. In November 2001, she moved in with her daughter Grace in Albert Lea. In November of 2003, she moved with her daughter Carolyn, in Lewisville, Texas. She came under Vitas Hospice care on July 26, 2007. Agnes is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Eilert and Jake; her son, Lawrence on December 30, 1988 from an Aortic Aneurism; her husband, Andrew on March 31, 1989; and her grandson, Lt Chad Carlson, on January 31, 2002 from a USAF jet training crash. Agnes is survived by her four children and their spouses; Marj and Larry Magnuson, Minneapolis; Clarence and Ruth Bauer, Adrian; Grace and Darrell Varland, Albert Lea; and Carolyn and Larry Carlson, Lewisville, TX. Agnes is survived by twelve grandchildren and spouses, Doug and Karen Magnuson, Donald and MaryBeth Magnuson, Bruce Magnuson, Mark Magnuson, Jim and Denise Bauer, Scott and Annette Bauer, David and Denise Bauer, Steve and Traci Bauer, Rebecca and Joe McBride, Brett and Tawnya Carlson, Nicole and Matt Armstrong, and Misty and Jeff Wagoner. Agnes is survived by twenty-two great-grandchildren, Elisse Magnuson, Charlotte Magnuson, Derek Magnuson, Grace Magnuson, Andrew James Bauer, Megan Bauer, Mitchell Bauer, Tony Bauer, Danielle Bauer, Derek Bauer, Josh and wife Heather Bauer, Ashleigh Bauer, Stephanie Bauer, Benjamin Bauer, Noah Bauer, Josiah Bauer, Danielle Jones, Alison McBride, Elizabeth Carlson, Jordyn Carlson, Ciara Carlson-Hargis, and Landry Claire Armstrong; two step-grandchildren, Trisha McBride and Sara McBride. Agnes is also survived by many nephews and nieces, cousins, and a host of friends.
