ALAN WALTER RODENBERG, age 61, of Worthington, died Monday, December 3, 2012, at his home. He was born July 3, 1951, in Sibley, IA, to Allen and Genevieve (Tischer) Rodenberg. Alan attended school in Primghar, IA. He served his country in the United States Army from January 19, 1971 to January 29, 1973. He then served in the National Guard until 1984.
Alan married Theresa Mejia on May 27, 1972, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Worthington. The couple made their home in Worthington and he was employed at Armour Swift and Company in Worthington.
Alan is survived by his wife, Theresa Rodenberg, Worthington; three children, Mike (Angelic) Rodenberg, Adrian; Christina (Brian) Erwin, Worthington; and Maria (Adam) Kutzbach, Worthington; seven grandchildren, Katelyn, Vivian, Kayla, Tinisha, Abryona, Olliana & Sydney; his mother, Genevieve Rodenberg, Spencer, IA;  two step brothers, Ken Rodenberg, Lakefield; and Galen (Louise) Morgan, Las Vegas, NV; and a step sister, Florene (Gaylord) Bobzien, Hartley, IA.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother; and a sister.
Visitation will be from 6-8pm Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Worthington; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church, in Worthington, officiated by Fr. James Calahan. Burial will be at a later date at the St. Mary Cemetery in Worthington.
