ALAN "AL" L. STROH, age 68, of Luverne, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at the Sanford Luverne Medical Center. He was born June 28, 1947, in Luverne, to Vernon and Gladys (McClure) Stroh. Alan attended country school near Luverne. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
Al married Sue Burnett on September 26, 1970, in Luverne. The couple lived in Luverne where Al worked at IBP for over forty one years and at Golden Plump for over twelve years. Al retired in 2013.
He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Luverne; and the Luverne VFW. He loved spending time with his grandchildren; attending their events and taking them fishing.
Al is survived by his loving wife of forty six years, Sue Stroh, Luverne; daughter, Tammy (Matt) Petty, Brandon, SD; son, Scott Stroh, Luverne; five grandchildren, Breanna (special friend, Patrick Schmidt) Tofteland, Brittany Tofteland, Jacob Tofteland, Ayden Petty & Ashlyn Petty; great grandchild, Kyan Tofteland; brother, Jim (Pat) Stroh, Luverne; and two sisters, Judy (Daryl) Reese, Worthington; and Carol (Dean) Brouwer, Lenox, SD.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4-8 pm Wednesday at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Funeral will be 10:30 am Thursday at the United Methodist Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Kristy Franken. Burial with full military honors provided by the Luverne American Legion & VFW will be in the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Luverne.
