ALICE EMILY MARY DeVRIES, age 76, of Worthington, died Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska. She was born March 24, 1931 in Providence, Rhode Island to parents Lancelot and Alice (Walker) McKinnon. She graduated from high school in North Providence, Rhode Island. Alice was united in marriage to Robert DeVries on September 5, 1953 in Centredale, Rhode Island. They lived in Coronado, CA and later moved to Worthington, MN. She worked as a typesetter at the Daily Globe Newspaper in Worthington. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Worthington and had played the piano at church. She enjoyed crocheting and making blankets for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also loved music and enjoyed dancing. Alice is survived by her husband, Robert DeVries, Worthington; children, Meredith (Bruce) Wright, Kearney, NE; Kevin DeVries, Calhan, CO; Elene (Rick) Beam, Arvada, CO; Sheila (Bruce) Rudolph, Rochester, MN; 12 grandchildren, Jeremy, Amy, Tyler, Brittani, Arianna, Cole, Melissa, Ryan, John, Holly, Liah, Jordan and four great grandchildren, Hayden, Alivia, Kaylen and Korbin; sisters Nancy Rigby, Providence, RI; Denis (Raymond) Gervelis and Patricia (Bob) Squadrito both of Rhode Island and her step father, William Rigby, Providence, RI. She was preceded in death by her mother and a sister Karen Wagner. Blessed Be Her Memory.
