ALICE ANN  BUSS, age 85, of Luverne, died Monday, January 5, 2015 at the Mary Jane Brown Good Samaritan Home, in Luverne, after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She was born November 15, 1929, in Rock Rapids, IA, to Albert and Bernice (Brown) Peterson. She attended country school in Lyon County, IA.
Alice married Roy H. Buss Sr. on December 14, 1947, in Luverne. After their marriage, the couple lived in Luverne. Alice cleaned houses for local families while her children were young. She later worked at Terrace Park. After Terrace Park closed, Alice worked in the bakery at Kenny's Super Value in Luverne. She later cleaned houses full time until Roy's death on April 19, 2009.
She enjoyed cooking, baking, ceramics, collecting Christmas Bears and sitting outdoors enjoying the sun.  She deeply appreciated and loved her family.
Alice is survived by her four children, Roy Jr. (Judy) Buss, Luverne; Shirley Anderson, Steen; Carolyn "Kelli" (LaValle) Voog, Centerville, SD; and Linda (Jim) Van Hulzen, Sioux Falls, SD; eleven grandchildren, Don Buss, Melissa (Jason) Bradley, Chad (Jill) Buss, Michele (friend, Pat Carr) Etherington, Michael (Michelle) Anderson, Miranda (Charles) Herrmann, Matthew (Rose) Anderson, Mitchel Anderson, Bridget (Scott) Hanson, Tammy (Neal) Bobzin and Jared (Ashley) Voog; twenty three great grandchildren; two sisters, Audrey Timmerman, Luverne; and Mary (John) Anderson, Rock Rapids, IA; a brother, Marvin (Mary) Peterson, Rock Rapids, IA; and a sister-in-law, Lillian Peterson, Sioux Falls, SD.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roy; sister, Inez Korthals; and two brothers, Alvin & Lee Peterson
Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7:30 pm; at the Dingmann Funeral Home in Luverne; and also one hour prior to the services at the church on Friday. Funeral will be 1:30 pm Friday at the United Methodist Church, in Luverne, officiated by Pastor Theodora Hall. Burial will be in the Maplewood Cemetery in Luverne.
