ALVINA LEONA RUFFING, age 87,of Albany, MN, formerly of Adrian, died, Monday, September 25, 2006, at Mother of Mercy Campus of Care, in Albany. She was born on March 23, 1919 to parents, Frank and Anna (Merfield) Loosbrock, in St. Kilian. Alvina attended school in St. Kilian and remained with her family helping with other families household duties. Alvina was united in marriage to Leander Ruffing, on November 14, 1939, at the St. Kilian Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple farmed in the Adrian area all of their married lives. On August 6, 1995 Leander preceded her in death. Alvina remained in her home until moving to Albany in 2002, where she became a resident of the Mother of Mercy Nursing Home. Alvina was a member of the St. Adrian Catholic Church and Catholic Daughters of America. She also was a seamstress and an avid quilter. She loved playing cards and was very active in the community. Alvina is survived by her children, Marjorie (Aloys) Wenker, Albany, MN; and John (Patricia) Ruffing, Maple Grove, MN; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, two brothers, Francis (Delores) Loosbrock, West Concord, MN; Florian (MaryAnn) Loosbrock, Lismore, MN; and one sister, Margaret Suedkamp, Ellsworth, MN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Leander, three brothers and two sisters. Blessed be Her memory.
