Alyda Rodenburgh was born on January 5, 1927, in Holland, Minnesota and was baptized in the Christian Reformed Church in Holland, Minnesota, in July 1927. In October, 1929 Alyda, and her parents Leonard Rodenburgh and Winnie Zeinstra moved to the state of Washington where her parents farmed and ran a dairy until they moved back to Leota Minnesota in September 1937 and began farming. Alyda went to country schools in Washington and Minnesota and graduated from the eighth grade in the spring of 1940.
Alyda married Henry Netjes on February 21, 1947, in the country home of her parents near Leota, Minnesota. After their marriage, Henry and Alyda farmed for over 47 years on farms located near Holland, Chandler, and Leota Minnesota. Alyda and Henry retired from farming in 1985 and lived on the family farm until 1994 when they moved to Leota, Minnesota. In October 2009 Alyda became a resident of Edgebrook and in February 2011 Henry became a resident of Edgebrook apartments. Alyda had the blessing of celebrating her 65th wedding anniversary with Henry in February 2012.
Alyda is survived by her husband, Henry, her five children, eleven grandchildren, and fourteen great grandchildren. Les and Bonnie (Van Essen) of Rock Rapids, Iowa, and their children Eric and Mark, and their six grand children; Warren and Verna (Van Lant) Netjes, of Andover, Minnesota, and their children Sherri, Vicki, and Michael and their four grandchildren; Lugene and Karen (Netjes) Sas of Fort Collins, Colorado and their children Johsua, Kristen, and Lauren and their four grandchildren; David and Linda (Mack) Netjes, of Wayzata, Minnesota, and their daughter Alexia; and Delwin and Kristine (Elliot) Netjes of Plymouth, Minnesota, and their children Luke and Tayler.
Alyda was preceded in in death by her infant brother Cornelius Rodenburgh (1921), her two infant sons, Ronald Netjes (1947) and Wesley Netjes (1948), and her parents, Leonard Rodenburgh (1968) and Winnie Zeinstra (1992)
